Eid Charity Implements 107 Healthcare Projects Abroad

Doha August 28 (QNA) - Sheikh Eid bin Mohammad Al -Thani Charitable Association has carried out 107 healthcare projects and medical services abroad during the first half of this year at a cost of more than QR 4 million, donated Qatari philanthropists . The Charity said in a press statement that about 159 thousand patients have benefited from these medical projects implemented during the past six months in 23 countries. It noted that the programs and medical equipment accounted for the largest share by 63 projects which have been implemented in 12 needy countries while carried out 33 projects for the treatment of patients in 8 countries, and the provision of medical equipment for 20 people in three other countries. The statement added that the Charity had organized medical camps in a number of poor countries in Asia and Africa, which included the treatment of a number of patients and the implementation of training programs for local doctors to qualify and raise their level so that they can perform surgical operations. The list of the beneficiaries of the projects and medical aid camps covered several countries, including Palestine, Sudan, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, India, Sri Lanka and Malawi.(QNA)
