Father of British PM Johnson supports promotion of tourism in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb.26, 2020. /Kabar/. The legendary Royal Geographic Society of London hosted the presentation of tourism opportunities in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the UK reported.
The event was attended by top 15 Kyrgyz and 40 British tourism companies. Famous environmentalist Stanley Johnson told about his trip to Kyrgyzstan in 2018 as part of the campaign to save the snow leopard.
As it turned out, he took part in a NABU video trap expedition. The 80-year-old father of the current British Prime Minister shared his admiration for the beauty of nature and the warmth of the people of Kyrgyzstan, and encouraged British travel agencies to actively develop this direction.
The event was held as part of a tourist road show to the British cities of London, Manchester and Edinburgh, initiated by the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Kyrgyz Embassy in the UK.
Kyrgyz Ambassador to the UK Edil Baisalov, Director of the Department of Tourism of Kyrgyzstan Maksat Damir uulu and representatives of leading Kyrgyz tour operators addressed the participants of the road show.
Turkish Airlines, which operates flights to Kyrgyzstan via Istanbul from four British airports - London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham - also took part in the tourism promotion.
The atmosphere of the Kyrgyz tourist road show was complemented by a special Muras Kyrgyz ethnic music group from Bishkek, which performed famous folk melodies on komuzes. (Kyrgyz national fretless string instrument).
