OSCE Office in Tashkent to support Philosophy of Developing Honorable Man Project based on Aitmatov

Tashkent, Aug. 15, 2018. /Kabar/. The Projects Coordinator of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Uzbekistan has made a decision to support implementation of the Philosophy of Developing Honorable Man Project, based on ideas of Chyngyz Aitmatov’s work “Balalygym” (“My Childhood”), OSCE Office in Tashkent reported.
This project has been prepared on the occasion of celebrating the 90th Anniversary of great writer and public figure Chyngyz Aitmatov, with the support from the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The authors of the idea are former Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan Daniiar Sydykov and Ph.D candidate, senior lecturer, correspondent of Kabar Kyrgyz National News Agency in Uzbekistan Tulanbai Kurbanov, who is also the coordinator of the project.
The main goal of the project is providing support in forming higher spirituality of the younger generation and the youth in Uzbekistan, strengthening friendship between the Kyrgyz and Uzbek peoples, as well as distributing fiction books to Kyrgyz secondary schools in Uzbekistan.
The book’s original was translated into Uzbek in 2005 upon Aitmatov’s consent and published in Uzbek literary journal “Gulistan”. Now it is to be published in two languages: Uzbek (Cyrillic and Latin) and Kyrgyz.
Potential users of the book are 56 Kyrgyz comprehensive secondary schools and Kyrgyz national culture centers in Uzbekistan, as well as libraries of comprehensive schools in Uzbekistan.
The project’s financial donor is the OSCE Office in Uzbekistan. At present tender is open for publishing the above-mentioned book.
