Parliamentarians from 47 countries arrived in Bishkek - what will they discuss?

Bishkek, Oct. 4, 2018. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan hosts the 17th autumn meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA ) for the first time. During two days in Bishkek, about 300 participants will discuss the issues of parliamentary cooperation at sessional meetings, as well as the security in Central Asia and beyond. “Today, parliamentarians from 47 countries of Europe, Asia and North America have arrived in Bishkek. In total, about 300 representatives of countries of the world take part in the meetings, of which 160 are directly representatives of the legislative branch of power,” said the Deputy Head of the Parliament’s Office of Kyrgyzstan Tazhimamat Shabolotov. Being also the head of the working group on the preparation of the OSCE PA, he noted that holding this meeting would give Kyrgyzstan a number of opportunities to represent the country. “Such a large-scale meeting of the parliamentary assembly is held in Kyrgyzstan for the first time. This will provide an opportunity to acquaint participants with the history of the country, and at the same time show the investment and tourism attractiveness of the state, as well as familiarize the general with the life of the Kyrgyz people,” Shabolotov said.
