Press conference in Yekaterinburg devoted to Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia

Bishkek, Mar.10, 2020. /Kabar/. A press conference, devoted to the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, took place on Mar. 6, 2020 at the press center of the TASS Russian News Agency, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported. Consul General of Kyrgyzstan in Yekaterinburg Ruslan Biybosunov, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region Vasiliy Kozlov, President of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry Andrei Besedin, and Executive Director of the Ural Tourism Association Mikhail Maltsev took part in the press conference. The participants of the press conference told about the Cross Year, which officially kicked off in a solemn atmosphere by Presidents of the two countries on Feb.27, 2020 in Moscow. They also focused on development of direct trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations between Kyrgyzstan and the Sverdlovsk Region and Kyrgyz-Russian relations in general. Industrial, textile, agricultural, tourism and other areas were identified as promising areas for cooperation. At the same time, special attention was paid to the contacts of business environment, interaction of business community of the sides. Media representatives were also informed about the main events of the Cross Year, preparations for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the 9th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference, the Second Forum of Rectors of Kyrgyzstan and Russia and the forum of young leaders of the two countries. Ruslan Biybosunov emphasized the trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Sverdlovsk region, which has been building since the late 90s. He drew attention to the fact that trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Sverdlovsk Oblast, which was only $5 million by the end of 1999, has grown more than 20 times by now.
