Response from Foreign Ministry on number of Kyrgyzstanis in coronavirus affected countries

Bishkek, Feb.28, 2020. /Kabar/. Currently, China, Japan, South Korea, Italy and Iran are disadvantaged countries due to coronavirus outbreak, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nurlan Abdrakhmanov said during the press conference at Kabar News Agency. According to the deputy minister’s data, there are 64 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, 352 in Italy, 2,348 in Korea, 67 in Iran, and 271 Kyrgyz citizens are in the People’s Republic of China. "The recommendation, made to the Republican Headquarters for Preventing Import and Further Spread of Coronavirus, for imposing restrictions on the entry of nationals from these countries is not politically motivated. We have very good relations with these countries, they are one of our main partners, however, if the Health Ministry says the coronavirus is spreading around the world on a large scale, and if the decision is made to restrict the entry of these countries’ citizens into our country, it will be a forced measure," Abdrakhmanov explained.
