SOON-TO-COME CHINGIS KHAAN MONUMENT MIGHT BECOME EIGHTH WONDER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A monument that is planned to be erected in eastern Khentii province will be one of the modern wonders of the world, said the province resident T.Tsambalkhundev on Thursday. The resident of Khentii aimag, where Chingis Khaan was born, Mr Tsambalkhundev applied to the President of Mongolia with a request to build up a standing Great Emperor statue in their province. The statue will be situated near a monument to the Emperor’s son and successor Ogodei Khaan, the Government is planning to erect soon. Prior to that, T.Tsambalkhundev had initiated an appeal for UNESCO world heritage registration of the sacred mountain of Burkhan Haldun, which is also said to be the birthplace of Chingis Khaan, as well as the purported location of his tomb.
