Thailand helps Kyrgyzstan in developing municipal governments

Bishkek, Aug. 29, 2018. /Kabar/. Director of the State Agency for Local Government and Inter-ethnic Relations (SALGIR) Bakhtiyar Saliev met with representatives of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (ТIСА) and the Ministry of Interior of Thailand represented by Director General of ТIСА Suphatra Srimaitreephithak. During the meeting the sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the area of developing local self-government, the press service of the Agency reported. Director of SALGIR expresses gratitude to ТIСА for choosing Kyrgyzstan’s project for introducing the Sustainable Community Development Model based on application of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP). He also noted the significance and necessity of the project, presented by ТIСА for development-oriented villages of Kyrgyzstan. “The goal of our cooperation with ТIСА is the development of rural areas and infrastructure, providing assistance in developing agriculture, enhance the community’s participation in developing socio-economic state of villages. Topicality of this matter is related to implementation of the Kyrgyz President’s Decree on declaring 2018 the Year of Regional Development”, Saliev said. The project is aimed at constructing greenhouses to provide vegetables to the population in winter and cold period.
