Bishkek, Aug. 24, 2018. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstanis, who received treatment and rehabilitation in Germany, returned back home.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health reported that on Aug. 22 after long-term treatment, Chuy oblast resident Aizirek Jeenbekova, born in 2003, and Osh oblast resident Kurmanbek Oljobaev, born in 2005, arrived back home.
The children underwent rehabilitation in Germany with the support of a public fund “Vmeste k zdorovyu” (Russian: Вместе к здоровью, lit.: together towards health).
Coordinator of the public fund Nurisa Dzhaparova said that for treatment in Germany the worst cases are selected from among children from low-income families on a charity basis long before the journey.
“Aizirek had, in this case, a severe esophageal injury, while Kurmanbek has congenital dysplasia. When it is time to return home, German medical workers, give each child that underwent treatment two bags of clothes and necessary medicines”, Nurisa Dzhaparova said.
The public fund “Vmeste k zdorovyu” was founded in Apr., 2011 with the aim to provide aid to children suffering from infantile cerebral paralysis. Since 2013 the fund has been an official partner to the International Charity Organization Friedensdorf International, which organizes charity activities for providing aid to children with deceases. Kyrgyzstan has first joint this initiative in Feb., 2013.
In 5 years six large-scale activities for observing and selecting children with severe diagnoses and various pathologies from poor families in Bishkek, Issyk-Kul, Chuy, Talas, Osh and Jalal-Abad oblasts have been carried out. The main selection criterion is absence of any possibility or way to cure a given pathology in Kyrgyzstan.
From February, 2013 to August, 2018 37 children received invitations to Germany for free treatment, three of them were invited for the second operation, 30 children accompanied by the doctor returned back safely and cured. Moreover, two children were invited for a post-operation check-up. At present our three little compatriots are in Mira village and German clinics.
The fund provides a detailed report on children to the Health Care Department of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health. Preparation of documents and children’s travel are done on the basis of mutual Agreement between parents and appointed guardian in accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.
