TWO SOUMS OF DORNOGOBI CONNECTED TO CENTRAL POWER GRID

Dornogobi /MONTSAME/ Construction work of 220 KW electric line with length of 160 km from Oyu Tolgoi mine to Tsagaan Suvarga mine is completed and Mandakh and Khatanbulag soums of Dornogobi aimag centers are connected to the centralized power grid. Prior to this, 120-km long 35 KW electric line from Tsagaan Suvarga to Khatanbulag soum and 22 KW electric line from Tsagaan suvarga to Mandakh soum had been constructed, waiting for this line to complete. A launching ceremony of electricity connection of Mandakh soum was held on June 19 with attendance of Energy Minister P.Gankhuu, MPs B.Delgersaikhan, G.Munkhtsetseg, aimag Governor T.Enkhtuvshin, soum Governor N.Otgonbayar and other officials. Mandakh soum with a population of 2000 had got electric supply from solar power system, however it was broken and electricity was supplied from diesel generator for only several hours in a day. Khatanbulag soum with a population of 3000 was also provided with electricity using diesel generator. Therefore, residents of those soums are very delighted to have a reliable frequent electricity supply, looking forward to get information promptly and to run businesses utilizing advanced technologies.
