Minister of Commerce and Industry Meets Delegation of American Middle East Institute

 
 
Doha, May 15 (QNA) - HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al-Thani met with a delegation of members of the Middle East Institute in the United States of America, who are currently visiting the country.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement that the meeting reviewed the friendship and cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and the United States of America, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues related to the development of the commerce and industry sector, the use of modern technologies, environmentally friendly fields, and trade relations between the State of Qatar and various countries of the world.
The statement indicated that HE Minister of Commerce and Industry highlighted during the meeting the successful economic policies established by the State of Qatar to support the private sector, indicating that the incentives, legislation and promising opportunities available in the country aimed at encouraging investors, businessmen and company owners to invest in the State of Qatar.
He stressed that the country seeks to diversify its economy to gradually reduce its dependence on hydrocarbon industries, move towards a knowledge-based economy and achieve sustainable development, noting that the State of Qatar has been working on establishing special economic zones with attractive benefits and incentives for investors and to attract foreign capital, especially in the areas of technology, advanced industries and logistics services, based on its distinguished position that qualifies it to be a regional center for technological innovation.
