The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change Aims to Raise Awareness on Environmental Culture in Doha International Book Fair
Doha, June 14 (QNA) - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is participating in the 32nd edition of the Doha International Book Fair, which will be held from June 12 to June 21 under the slogan "Through Reading We Rise."
The Ministry confirmed in a statement today that its participation in the book fair comes from the ministry's belief in the importance of reading in shaping the minds of the future generation, as well as its belief that reading and viewing are the best ways to create public awareness.
The ministry aims, through its pavilion and the display of its publications, to raise the awareness of the local community regarding environmental culture. And introduce the importance of preserving the local environment, the methods and efforts of sustainable development undertaken by Qatar during the past years, as well as its plans for the future.
The Ministry's special pavilion will display a set of Qatari environment-related books that touch on Qatar's land and sea environment. In addition to introducing the visitors to the most important living organisms and biological diversity in the country and ways to preserve them. The books will also cover the dangers that these organisms face and the efforts that Qatar is doing in preserving and reproducing them.
The pavilion also provides a broad and comprehensive definition of the natural reserves in Qatar, which cover a large part of the local land and sea environment. As well as introduce Qatar's plans to expand, preserve and protect these reserves, and all the legislation and laws issued by country to maintain them.
Qatar's environmental tourism areas will also be at display in the pavilion. As well as a large display of the environmental library in a digital form, that includes the most recent books and publications by the ministry, which simplifies the process of viewing and reading through a browsing area.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change will be providing an engaging opportunity for the visitors, through a corner that displays pictures of Qatar's nature scenes, captured by the ministry and local environmental enthusiasts, as well as a photography corner. (QNA)
