Ministry of Environment Recognizes 2 Activists for Biodiversity Protection Efforts

 

 

Doha, April 04 (QNA) - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change honored two environmental activists for their initiatives that contributed to raising awareness of environmental issues, defending its biodiversity, and enriched it.

The two activists are Hamad Al Khulaifi, who made contributions in the field of preserving birds and wildlife, and Ali Al Hinzab whose initiative focused on the preservation of plant life by planting local trees in all regions of the country.

HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani, who honored the activists at Al Sheehaniya Reserve as part of the Environment Pioneers initiative, confirmed that the Ministry's goal of this initiative is to shed light on the owners of initiatives that contribute to preserving the Qatari environment of all kinds, whether plants, animals or marine organisms.

His Excellency indicated the possibility of developing this initiative during the coming period, to include honoring companies and institutions that contribute to the field of the local environment. (QNA)
