Ministry of Health: Over 32,000 Pilgrims Receive Medical Care in Madinah

Madinah, June 18, 2023, SPA -- The Ministry of Health (MOH) has offered medical services at seasonal health centers in Madinah to over 32,000 pilgrims since the beginning of the current month of Dhu al-Qidah as part of the comprehensive services it provides for pilgrims during their stay in Madinah.
According to MOH, 28,878 pilgrims received health care at the seasonal health centers adjacent to the Prophet's Mosque and the central region of Madinah, and 3,365 pilgrims were admitted to emergency units at different hospitals since the beginning of the current month.
MOH said that four pilgrims underwent open heart surgery, 51 pilgrims underwent cardiac catheterization, and 44 other surgeries were performed on a number of pilgrims.
The ministry also said that 98 dialysis sessions were carried out, and 150,008 pilgrims have benefited from health awareness services provided in hotels, shelters, shuttle buses, health and public facilities.
Such medical attention is part of the pioneering, highest quality standards services that the wise government is keen to provide round the clock at all air and land arrival and departure ports during the Hajj season. The Saudi government helps offer such services through qualified medical staff and through health awareness and education provided for pilgrims and visitors during their stay in Madinah before and after performing Hajj.
