Doha, May 22 (QNA) - Center of Legal and Judicial Studies (CLJS) organized on Monday morning a legal symposium on electronic judiciary - an application to the Qatar Investment and Trade Court, through which it reviewed Qatar's successful experience in the field of transition towards electronic judiciary and the role of this experience in consolidating effective justice, with the participation of several government agencies.
At the opening of the symposium, Director of CLJS Dr. Saleh Ali Al Fadala emphasized the importance of holding this symposium, which comes within the framework of the legal seminars program of the center, noting that it aims primarily at contributing to the establishment of a Qatari legal system that keeps pace with the aspirations of the wise leadership by consolidating the principles of accomplished justice - making sure that the outputs of the legal seminars are in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, and national development strategies. It also aims to work on upgrading and modernizing Qatari legislation to create a supportive and stimulating legal and investment environment for national development.
This symposium also aims to shed light on developments in the legal arena, to benefit from successful experiences and contribute to the development of the justice system through the symposium's discussions and outputs, Al Fadala added.
Director of CLJS pointed out that, in view of the importance of providing an investment climate that encourages capital, the symposium focused on the system of the Qatar Investment and Trade Court, and its advanced procedures for implementing the electronic litigation system, leading to an advanced, efficient and simplified judicial system for litigation procedures.
In its first axis, the symposium addresses the definition of electronic judiciary, its characteristics, mechanisms of action, and examples of the successful experiences of Arab and European countries in electronic judiciary. In its second axis, the symposium's work session reviews the electronic system of Qatar Investment and Trade Court in terms of the court's internal system, the procedures for registering and filing claims electronically, the role of the case management office in preparing the case, the announcement and electronic notification that takes place under the national address, and the procedures for referring the case to the court electronically.
The symposium also reviewed the progress of the case procedures before the Investment and Trade Court, as well as the court's rulings issued electronically, and inquiries about their implementation electronically. (QNA)
