New Parties Accede to Global Public Diplomacy Network as 8th Assembly Wraps up 

 
Doha, February 22 (QNA) - The eighth Global Public Diplomacy Network (GPD Net) general assembly concluded Wednesday at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), with the signing of agreements to join the Republics of Malta and Moldova as new members, in addition to signing the accreditation of the MINRICS Foundation as Cuba's official GPD Net representative.
    The agreements were signed by General Manager of Katara Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, and Secretary-General of the GPD Net.
      The closing day also saw the launching of the GPD Net website in both Arabic and English as part of the mother tongue initiative, and holding a symposium on social work in Qatar.
    The new bilingual website aims to enable permanent communication between member states, and to promote cultural exchange in the field of programs, events and partnerships between them to contribute to the development of societies, according to a flexible mechanism and international standards that provide an exchange of information.
    It also contributes to capacity building, provides all forms of support for cultural events to member states, and builds bridges of communication between institutions affiliated with the network. Five more languages will be added after five member states confirm their willingness to participate in this initiative, namely: Mozambique, Mexico, Bulgaria, Albania and Tajikistan. (QNA)
