PM Discusses With The President Of Total Energies Aspects Of Cooperation Within The Contract Concluded With The Company
Baghdad / NINA / - The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, received today, Monday, the CEO of the French company Total Energies, Patrick Pouyanne.
The Prime Minister's Office said in a statement, "During the meeting, aspects of cooperation within the contract that was concluded recently between Iraq and Total were discussed, as Al-Sudani blessed the start of the implementation steps on the ground, and confirmed that the government has made great strides with commitments and reaching this stage."
Al-Sudani stated, "The contract with the company and the fifth licensing round are part of the strategic vision for gas investment, which Iraq was late to start investing in."
He renewed the government's approach to establishing serious partnerships with major companies in terms of investing in natural resources, and benefiting from associated gas in particular.
For his part, Pouyanné indicated his company's direction towards broad cooperation with Iraq, its confidence in partnership in the fields of energy, and investment in promising and ambitious sectors in this field, stressing that the company's technical teams will start their work in their locations within days./ End
