ABOUT ELECTIONS OF CITIZENS' REPS KHURAL

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Elections of the Citizens' Representative Khural of provinces, soums and the city's districts will take place on November 21. According to the General Election Commission (GEC), two thous. 765 candidates will compete for 985 seats of the Citizens' Representative Khural where 689 seats will be taken through the majority system, the rest--through the proportional system pursuant to the election law. Six political parties and two coalitions will take part in the elections. One thous. 29 candidates have been nominated from the Mongolian People's Party (MPP), one thous. 19--from the Democratic Party (DP), 115--from the Civil Will-Green Party, 28--from the "Civil Justice" coalition (Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party and the Civil Will-Green Party), 46--from the National Democratic Party, 69--from the "Justice" coalition (Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party and National Democratic Party), six--from the Party Implementing Freedom, and 332--from the MPRP. Moreover, 134 independent candidates will participate, too. 16 thousand 369 candidates will compete for 6,828 seats of the Citizens' Representative Khural of soums. B.Khuder
