Afghan Official : NAM Will Flourish Through Iran Presidency

Tehran, Aug 30, IRNA - Secretary-General of the Afghan National Welfare Party Mohammad Hassan Jafari said Thursday the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) will flourish in the next three years by Iran's presidency over the movement. Exclusively talking to IRNA, the Afghan official said the ongoing NAM Summit in Tehran has opened a new chapter in both global and regional cooperation. He said the regional and Muslim nations have fixed their hopeful eyes on Iran. The Afghan official then described the presence of the Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi in the Tehran NAM Summit as slapping the Zionist regime. Standing with Iran, Egypt can play significant role in maintaining unity among the Islamic nations, said the official. On the West's anti-Iran sanctions, Jafari said Tehran could successfully make those restrictions ineffective. These are years that the West unfounded claim that Iran wants to build nuclear bombs, while Tehran has repeatedly declared that it is against such measures and is pursuing peaceful nuclear energy.
