AGRICULTURE MINISTER MEETS HEAD OF RF TRADE REPRESENTATION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Batzorig received an invitation to visit Moscow next month from his Russian counterpart. The visit is expected on December 13-20. On November 17, the Minister met with Vasilyev Maksim Viktorovich, Head of Russian Trade Representative Office in Mongolia, which recently reopened, and appreciated the positive developments in Mongolia-Russia relations in recent years. Minister B.Batzorig highlighted the significance of Russian assistance in agriculture sector, such as humanitarian aid of 4.2 million doses of livestock vaccines and the Russian Development Bank’s USD 10 million soft loan, using which Mongolia imported agricultural equipment. “I hope these works will continue,” said the Minister. Mr. Viktorovich brought up some issues to the Minister’s notice for cooperation, including the quota for flour and milk to be imported to Mongolia from Russia and Mongolia-Russia Initiative -2018 event to be held in Ulaanbaatar on May 17-20 next year.
