Ambassador O.Och presents diplomatic credentials

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 7, O.Och, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the European Union presented his diplomatic credentials to Donald Tusk, President of the European Council. With regard to the presentation of diplomatic credentials, Donald Tusk, President of the European Council received Ambassador O.Och to exchange views on bilateral relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the European Union. After conveying greetings from Ts.Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia to Donald Tusk, Ambassador O.Och expressed his gratitude to him for taking part in the 11th ASEM Summit held in Ulaanbaatar last year. Moreover, he underlined that the European Union is one of the 'third neighbors' of Mongolia and pointed out that Mongolia aims to develop comprehensive partnerships with the EU, extend relations with the EU and its member states and is interested in strengthening trade and economic cooperation in the future. President of the European Council Donald Tusk mentioned that it had been a great experience attending the ASEM Summit and conveyed his greetings to the President of Mongolia. "Mongolia has been successfully maintaining main democratic principles by laying the foundation of democracy at home" he noted. After mentioning that Mongolia is one of the important partners of the EU, Mr. Donald Tusk said that the EU highly values Mongolia being consistent with the principles of democracy, even though the country is presently experiencing some difficulties in its economy and expressed his willingness to strengthen cooperation between Mongolia and the EU in the future.
