AMBASSADOR PRESENTS DIPLOMATIC CREDENTIALS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Concurrent Non-Resident Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr B.Batkhishig Wednesday submitted his diplomatic credentials to Mr Abdulaziz Komilov, the Minister of Foreign Minister of the country. At the meeting held after the ceremony, the Uzbekistan’s FM Mr Komilov received our Ambassador, and discussed the bilateral relations and cooperation. Mr Batkhishig expressed a willingness of his country to expand the cooperation with Uzbekistan in the fields of politics, economics, education and culture, and mentioned about a necessity of establishing a number of documents and agreements. Confirming that the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has been invited to pay an official visit to Mongolia, the Ambassador hopes that this visit will contribute to the Mongolia-Uzbekistan relations, and then proposed the Uzbekistan’s side to host a consultative meeting in first half of the next year in order to prepare the visit and to consider the bilateral ties’ issues. Moreover, Mr Batkhishig put forward proposals to collaborate at an international arena such as supporting each other in frames of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and to join the agreement on establishing the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries in Ulaanbaatar. In response, the Foreign Minister noted that the sides have a big opportunity to develop fruitful cooperation at the mining and agricultural sectors because the countries have many similarities in terms of economic structure. He promised to pay attention to the issues from the Mongolian side, supporting the proposal about hosting the consultative meeting for making the visit of the Uzbekistan President’s visit effective. After the meeting with the Foreign Minister, the Ambassador held meetings with authorities of the Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
