Anniversary of DIU Observed Abroad

Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- Russia, Spain and Mexico organized celebrations and Sweden, Germany and Nigeria held seminars and photo and book exhibitions on Oct. 13-19 to mark the 90th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). Displayed at the venues of the exhibitions were photos showing the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un. Their works and photos and books introducing the DPRK were also on display there. The chairpersons of the Russian Group for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and the Rostov Association for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism of Russia praised Kim Il Sung for forming the DIU during the worst period under the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule. The chief of the Vasco Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in Spain and other speakers said that Kim Il Sung provided the organizational and ideological ground for founding a party in those days of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and thus accomplished the cause of founding a party without delay after the country's liberation and that Kim Jong Il developed the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) into the Juche-oriented revolutionary one and firmly protected socialism by dint of Songun. The chief of the Swedish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea stressed that the formation of the DIU marked the first stride to founding the WPK, a political general staff of the broad working masses. Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events held in Sweden and Germany. -0-
