Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Observed

Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Today is a great auspicious day in the Korean nation's history when a fundamental change took place in hewing out the independent destiny of the Korean people and a new origin was given for socialist Korea, says Rodong Sinmun in an editorial Tuesday. The editorial goes on: President Kim Il Sung achieved the historic cause of the country's liberation. Thanks to the outstanding leadership of the President who wisely guided the revolution and construction on the basis of anti-Japanese revolutionary tradition and fighting experience established in the forest of Paektu, the army and people of the DPRK could win a brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, post-war rehabilitation, social revolution of several stages and socialist construction. Leader Kim Jong Il, cherishing the far-sighted intention to add shine to Korea, advanced the revolution and construction as required by the idea and intention of the President, regarding it as his lifelong mission to carry forward and accomplish the revolutionary cause of the President.
