ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON MONGOLIAN INVESTMENTS RUNS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The 15th conference of investment was held on October 16-18 in Ulaanbaatar with participation of some 150 delegates from the governments of Mongolia, the USA and Canada and the private sector. The annual conference was organized by Washington-based North America-Mongolia Business Council with purposes to intensify the trade and economic ties between Mongolia and North America and to support investments to Mongolia, in frames of marking the 25th anniversary of the Mongolia-US diplomatic relations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold spoke about history of Mongolian democracy, its challenges and results of the parliamentary election, and gave a report on present political, socio-economic situation in Mongolia. The Deputy Assistant Secretary for Market Access and Compliance of the U.S. Department of Commerce Mr John M.Andersen delivered a report on the U.S trade policy, the Mongolia-US trade and economic relations and cooperation and its development. About the US and Canadian governments' willingness to collaborate with Mongolia said Gregory Goldhawk and Piper A.W.Campbell, the Ambassadors of Canada and the USA to Mongolia. Head of the Cabinet Secretariat of Government Ch.Saikhanbileg gave a reception for the participants, at which he spoke about activities of the cabinet and policy on foreign investments. The delegates of the U.S and Canadian companies exchanged views on investment and legal environment in Mongolia. Other people delivered reports themed "Mining and mineral resources", "Energy and infrastructure" and "Gas technology". Another report on environment and eco-development policy was delivered by S.Oyun, the Minister of Environment and Green Development as well. B.Khuder
