Appeal of Chondoist Chongu Party to S. Koreans

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Chondoist Chongu Party sent an appeal to the political parties, organizations and personages of different circles in south Korea on Friday. The appeal branded the joint military exercises now under way in south Korea as the most vicious and shameless actions in history for igniting the second Korean war. A war has become a stark reality and the nation is at crossroads of whether it suffers a nuclear war disaster at the hands of outsiders or defends the security and peace of the nation by the concerted efforts of the Koreans, the appeal said, and went on: Now is the time for all those who love the country and the nation and are worried about the destiny of the nation to put the nation's cause above partisan interests, religious belief and ism and turn out as one in the righteous patriotic struggle for fending off the danger of a nuclear war and safeguarding peace. Peace and security of the Korean peninsula are a vital issue directly related to the destiny of the Korean nation. Defence of peace is the way for the nation to survive and achieve reunification and prosperity common to it. The security and peace of the nation would be unthinkable apart from the struggle to wipe out the traitors who are keen on escalating confrontation with the fellow countrymen and igniting a war as henchmen of the U.S. The Chondoists in the north and the south have to achieve unity and take the lead in the just patriotic war for resolutely foiling the reckless military provocation and nuclear war moves of the war-like forces at home and abroad. -0-
