Cabinet backs draft amendments to laws

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The cabinet Saturday discussed and backed draft amendments to the law on public celebrations and remarkable days, and then decided to submit them to parliament. Organizing Mongolian national, diplomatic ceremonies, public remarkable days and celebrations, involving the President, Prime Minister and Speaker in ceremonial events and running meetings of the dignitaries with foreign delegates are regulated by the rule of state protocol. State ceremonial events are considered as measures of pride and respect for showing the tradition of Mongolian people and national features, involving all the people and leaders of legislative and executive bodies as well as the judicial authority, so it is considered as necessity by the amendment to adopt the state ceremonial rule by the President who is the symbol of people's unity. The cabinet says the draft amend fully meets the Constitution of Mongolia, and draft amendments to the laws on diplomatic service and on the National Great Festival have been worked out already in order to harmonize them with other laws.
