Central Asian countries are top priority for Kyrgyzstan

Ashgabad, Aug. 24, 2018. /Kabar/. Central Asian countries are a top priority for Kyrgyzstan, the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Erlan Abdyldaev told journalists commenting the results of the first day of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov’s state visit to Turkmenistan. He reminded that within the visit 11 documents had been signed. Agreements in the areas of emergency prevention, development of agriculture, culture, archival affairs, and a number of other documents were signed. “I would like to highlight two blocks of documents: first, Joint Declaration on Establishing Strategic Partnership. To date, such documents have been signed with almost all Central Asian countries. We, once again, demonstrate that Central Asian countries are a top priority in the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan”, Abdyldaev said. He mentioned that this document will not only provide an opportunity to maintain the political dialogue on bilateral level, but also strengthen mutual understanding and mutual trust in the entire Central Asia. “The second block of documents that I would like to note concerns trade and economic cooperation. A new agreement on trade and economic cooperation, as well as a highly important agreement on double taxation avoidance was signed. It is this agreement that entrepreneurs of the two countries had been expecting in order to increase trade between our states, and encourage more investments both from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan and from Kyrgyzstan to Turkmenistan”, the Kyrgyz Minister added. He considers that at present the trade turnover is not significant and does not correspond to the potential that exists between the two countries. Abdyldaev said that it is these two agreements that will allow to increase the turnover volume. http://kabar.kg/eng/news/central-asian-countries-are-top-priority-for-kyrgyzstan/
