Chamber of Commerce and Industry cancels its demonstration

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia made an statement that the Chamber has cancelled a demonstration which planned to organize today, on April 13 at the central square. The chamber had handed a petition to the parliament, appealing to not increase tax rates, imposing pressure to companies. However , the Chamber President B.Lhagvajav stated that they had met with the Parliamentary Speaker and reached an agreement. “- We have put forth 8 types of requirements, among which 5 were related to state management. The parliamentary speaker said that the state owned companies will be audited after establishing an agreement with the IMF to implement its program on April 28. The results of the audit will be concluded by October 01 and management of state-owned companies will then be defined. That time, probably, the issue to change tax laws would be raised. Therefore, we decided to wait and if our requirements are not met, then we would protest again” said President B.Lhagvajav.
