COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE MARK KOENIG RECOMMENDS PUBLIC POLL TO HEAR CITIZENS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ MP and Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on State Structure met Mongolia Country Representative of the Asia Foundation Mark Koenig on April 17. They exchanged views on the two parties' cooperation. At the beginning of the meeting, MP D.Lundeejantsan mentioned that the Government of Mongolia and the Asia Foundation successfully collaborated in organizing public hearing, consultative and public discussions on making amendments to the Constitution of Mongolia. He then briefly talked about the Asian Foundation’s rendered supports in direction of empowering the Mongolian Parliament. Representative Mark Koenig said that he has been appointed as Mongolia country representative in January, 2018 and expressed his satisfaction with the successful cooperation. Mr.Mark Koenig shared his opinion on organizing a public poll which allows to hear citizens’ opinion rather than political interests. He expressed that the Asia Foundation is interested in cooperating with Mongolia regarding local governance and legal status of the Capital city. E.Altanzul
