CRIMES DECLINE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ At national level, 17,591 crimes were registered in the first 11 months of 2011, reflecting a decrease by 342 crimes or 1.9 per cent against the previous year. This decrease was mainly due to the decreases in crimes against the right of ownership (609), against human life and health (or physical well-being) (237), against population health (58). There were increases in crimes against the rules of safety of traffic and use of motor vehicles (269), against social security (206), against administrative rules (44), against judicial procedures (35), against children, family and social morality (33) compared to the same period of the previous year. In all these crimes, 7,294 injuries were cause and 871 deaths occurred. The number of injuries went up by 900 people or 14.1 per cent, and the number of deaths went down by 318 people or 26.7 per cent against the previous year. B.Khuder
