DELEGATION ATTENDS CICA CONFERENCE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A delegation of Mongolia participated in an international scientific-practice conference organized by the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) on October 5 in Astana city, Kazakhstan. An Ambassador of Mongolia O.Dambiinyam delivered a report at the conference on Mongolia's position and efforts over the CICA, proposals on strengthening peace and security in the region, developing cooperation within the CICA and exchanging necessary information. The conference attracted representatives of the CICA members and delegates of international organizations, including the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). At sub-meetings, the participants discussed matters on the military and political cooperation in Asia, on strengthening the economic cooperation and on opportunities to make the CICA international organization. Moreover, the gathered highlighted an importance of creating a new mechanism of cooperation in frames of the CICA, closely collaborating with international and regional organizations such as Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), carrying out multi-lateral activities for strengthening trust, supporting the partnership between states and a private sector and making mutually accepted compromise in case of tackling regional urgent problems.
