DEPUTY MAYOR IN BERLIN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A delegation led by Mr N.Bataa, the Deputy Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city, is participating in the 2nd ASEM Mayors and Governors Meeting (MGM) which started on Thursday in Berlin, Germany. Within the meeting, the Deputy Mayor met with Mr Klaus Wowereit, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, and granted him an invitation from the UB Mayor E.Bat-Uul to the capital city of Mongolia. Mr Wowereit said he will visit Mongolia next year to discuss matters on the ties and cooperation between the capital cities of Mongolia and Germany. The Deputy Mayor also met his counterpart of Tokyo city Mr Toshiyuki Akiyama and shared views with him on the direct relations and cooperation between the cities. Mr Bataa thankfully received a proposal from his counterpart to develop the bilateral ties through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and expressed a willingness to intensify the collaboration in water retaining. N.Bataa also exchanged views with a head of the Senate Department for Urban Development and Environment. They shared views on experience of Berlin in urban development and tackling problems such as water purification plant, pure and drinking water supply, pipelines, waste management, air pollution, and traffic.
