DEPUTY PM EXPRESSES MONGOLIA’S ECONOMIC ASPIRATION AT SCO MEETING

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Representing Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh, Mongolian delegates led by Deputy Prime Minister U. Enkhtuvshin participated in the 16th Meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council that took place in Sochi, Russia from November 30 to December 1. At an extended meeting of SCO Heads of Government, U. Enkhtuvshin delivered a speech, expressing Mongolia’s interest and position on trade and economic cooperation between SCO member states. He affirmed that as an observer state, Mongolia is willing to take active part in developing economic, trade and investment cooperation and multilateral activities of SCO member states, in particular cooperation in infrastructure, road, transport, energy, agriculture and financial sectors. U. Enkhtuvshin held a talk with Russian Prime Minister D.A.Medvedev, who chaired the meeting. On his way to Sochi, Enkhtuvshin, as a head of Mongolian side to the Mongolia-Russia intergovernmental commission met with Russia’s Economic Development Minister M.S.Oreshkin, Natural Resources and Ecology Minister S.E.Donskoi and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission T.Sagrsyan in Moscow. At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on proposal of Mongolia to build free trade agreement in order to eliminate tariff barriers, on collaboration in eliminating non-tariff barriers, on processes and preparations of projects being or to be co-implemented as well as they scheduled a date and venue of next meeting of intergovernmental commission.
