Deputy PM Prawit orders probe into possible escape route of Yingluck

BANGKOK, Aug 25 (TNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon has ordered security authorities to find out the possible escape route of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra and vowed to punish anyone who facilitated her departure. He did not comment on the report that Ms Yingluck had left Thailand at the night of Aug 23 on a vehicle of a senior official heading for Cambodia through Koh Chang island with Singapore as her destination. “I learned from online reports that she has escaped. That is possible because there are many routes,” Gen Prawit said. He also said that Ms Yingluck surprised security authorities and that the government did not conspire to let her go. Earlier security officials had reported that they haven't seen Ms Yingluck leaving home for two days, he said. Security officials were checking the border and possible routes and anyone who facilitated the escape would face legal actions, Gen Prawit said. (TNA
