MOSCOW, October 15 /TASS/. The duration of anti-Russian sanctions will depend on the United States and the European Union. Russia is going to react in accordance with its national interest, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with the Serbian newspaper Politika on the eve of his visit to Belgrade on Wednesday. “As for the duration of restrictive measures, that will also depend on the United States and the European Union. For our part, we will take a well-considered approach to assessing the risks and consequences of the sanctions’ application and will react in accordance with our national interests,” the Russian president said. He drew attention to the fact that declining reciprocal trust could not but deteriorate the international business climate on the whole and the activities of European and U.S. companies in Russia. It will be hard for them to liquidate their reputation loss, Putin said. “Other countries will also give a good thought to whether it is sensible and reasonable to trust their assets to the American banking system and increase their dependence on economic cooperation with the United States,” the Russian head of state told Politika.
