Events on DPRK Held Abroad

Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il and the 26th anniversary of his assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army, the sixth anniversary of Kim Jong Un's assumption of the KPA supreme commandership and the 100th birth anniversary of the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk. Round-table talks, lectures, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Angola, Nigeria, Hungary and Austria from Nov. 20 to Dec. 4. The international secretary of the Angolan Women's Organization said that the Korean people are blessed with illustrious leaders down through generations, adding it is thanks to the outstanding leaders that the Korean people could advance along the road chosen by themselves without a slight deviation firmly defending the country's sovereignty and dignity even under the present complex international situation. The chairman of the Hungarian Workers' Party and other speakers stressed that Kim Jong Il protected socialism with his unique Songun politics and Kim Jong Un is wisely leading the struggle for building a powerful socialist state. The chairman of the Solidarity Committee of Unionists for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea in Austria noted that he took part in the 5th International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu and he once again realized the boundless reverence of the progressive mankind for the heaven-sent great men. -0-
