Foreign minister to attend sustainable development meeting at UN

BANGKOK, July 14 – Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai will attend a high-level meeting on sustainable development at the head office of the United Nations and report Thailand’s progress towards sustainable development goals. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Busadee Santipitak said that the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development was set at the UN headquarters in New York on July 17-20. The forum will follow up work in accordance with the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and progress towards targets under the sustainable development agenda. According to Ms Busadee, Minister Don will tell the forum that Thailand is trying to achieve sustainable development goals without leaving anyone behind. The minister will also inform the meeting of Thailand’s voluntary efforts to reach sustainable development goals. Thailand was ready to introduce sufficiency economy philosophy to the international community so that other countries could apply it to simultaneously reach sustainable development goals, she said.
