FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS SEIJI KIHARA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar received Seiji Kihara, a member of the House of Representatives of Japan, on November 6. Seiji Kihara is a former First Deputy Foreign Minister and headed his country's part during the negotiations on Mongolia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). The parties exchanged views on deepening the strategic partnership in all sectors, strengthening mutually-beneficial economic cooperation, widening the cooperation between local governments and on other interested issues related to regional cooperation. Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar expressed his appreciation for the establishment of the well-developed EPA as having taken part in the process from the beginning. The parties agreed on improving the EPA's outcomes and further developing beneficial and practical cooperation through close collaboration in introducing Japanese high technologies in Mongolia, developing industrial sector, increasing export of value-added products of Mongolia, specifically exporting sheep wool and medical plants in Japanese market.
