GEC GIVES REPORT ON PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION PREPARATION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ As of today, about 30 people from nine foreign organizations have been listed in the General Election Commission (GEC) to observe the forthcoming parliamentary election. 37 people have been registered to report the election as well.
It was reported by N.Luvsanjav, a head of the GEC, at a press conference held on Tuesday to heads of diplomatic missions and permanent representatives of international organizations in Mongolia.
According to N.Luvsanjav, a total of one million 838 thousand and 849 people have been registered in the list of voters, in 1,905 parliamentary election sub-committees nationwide. A total of 15,549 state servants are working in the sub-commissions, and 130 people are working in 26 teams of IT and 2,625 are working as assistants to the sub-committees. 2,446 machines of counting voting papers have been transferred to the sub-committees as well.
The participants interested in matters on the election system in Mongolia, a reason of running the parliamentary election with help of automatic devices and its importance, solving problems in case of an argument related to the automatic devices, date of announcing the parliamentary election results and tackling requests and complaints about the election.
The GEC's head N.Luvsanjav mentioned that the election commission is granting permission certificates to foreign reporters and observers, and then underlined the GEC has taken all necessary organizing measures.
The same day, the GEC tested the devices, introducing it to representatives of the political parties and coalitions that are running in the election as well as NGOs.
