GEC HEAD MEETS S.KOREAN DELEGATION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Tuesday, head of the General Election Commission N.Luvsanjav introduced a feature of this year's parliamentary election and its preparation works to Song Jong Jung, a director-general of the Gyeonggi Province's Election Commission of the Republic of Korea. The delegation headed by Mr. Song has arrived in Mongolia to observe the upcoming elections of parliament and the Citizens' Representative Khural of Ulaanbaatar city. The GEC's head underlined that Mongolia has updated its law on the parliamentary election and the elections of both parliament and the Citizens' Representative Khural of the capital city will run at the same time, utilizing electronic devices for the first time. He added that Mongolia ran the elections for the first time, taking votes from Mongolian citizens abroad. "The General Election Commission has used many form of election advertisement, paying a great attention to delivering new information to the voters. After the elections, we will evaluate our achievements as well as mistakes in the organizing matters in order to refine upon our election system," N.Luvsanjav said. Highly appreciating the bilateral cooperation between the election bodies of the two countries, N.Luvsanjav emphasized about a long-year experience of the partnership, and expressed his satisfaction with a development of the collaboration between the election commissions. In turn, Mr. Song appreciated the utilization of the automatic system in the parliamentary election, and then said the election commission of Gyeonggi Province wants to study the experience of the GEC.
