GOLDEN AND SILVER GEREGES AWARDED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A ceremony took place on Friday in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to grant the golden and silver Gereges (paiza - tablet of authority for the Mongol officials and envoys in ancient time) for titles of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary and envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary to some diplomats. As of today, 128 diplomats have been granted the title of ambassador--58 have become the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary and 70--the envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of contemporary diplomatic service of Mongolia, the State Head decreed to grant the golden and silver Gereges to 90 diplomats who bear the highest diplomatic titles. The Gereges went to 76 diplomats today. Present at the ceremony were G.Zandanshatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs; former ministers; advisors to the President; some diplomats. B.Khuder
