Government urged to reconsider ties with countries supporting terrorism

Tehran, April 6, IRNA - The Iranian parliament urged the government to reconsider trade and economic ties with those countries which support terrorism.

Parliamentarians, in their Sunday morning session, reviewed and
approved the details of a one-starred bill which urged the government
to reconsider its ties with those states which sponsor and support
terrorism.

The bill was approved with 146 favorable votes from among 201 cast by
Majlis members.

The bill was inspired by the notion that some countries have recently
been rendering help and support to certain groups opposing the Islamic
Republic of Iran.

The parliamentarians said certain countries were making huge profits
out of the billion-dollar-strong trade and economic exchanges with
Iran and were offering jobs to thousands of their nationals in
factories they have built using the profit they gain thanks to their
transactions with Iran but still supported certain anti-Iran groups.

They believe such a behaviour stands in sharp contrast with all
international laws which ban ties with countries which support
terrorism.
