Guideline for Korea's Reunification

Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Nineteen years has passed since leader Kim Jong Il's celebrated work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification" was made public on August 4, 1997. The work comprehensively deals with the exploits President Kim Il Sung performed for national reunification and carries the steadfast will of Kim Jong Il to accomplish the cause of national reunification true to the President's intention. Kim Jong Il in the work formulated the three principles of national reunification, the ten-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo, advanced by Kim Il Sung, as the three charters for national reunification that should be maintained under any circumstances. The work has served as an encyclopedia that gives overall and scientific answers to the problems arising in putting an end to the national division and realizing Korea's reunification. The publication of the work enhanced the Korean people's patriotic zeal and will to achieve the national reunification on the principle of national independence and great unity. In the new century the June 15 Joint Declaration, a milestone for national reunification, and the October 4 Declaration, an action program for its realization, were adopted between the north and the south and a new era of independent reunification by the nation's united efforts ushered. The DPRK people are now hardening their will to meet the vicious challenges of the separatists and realize the national reunification without fail under the guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un. -0-
