Health Minister receives reps of healthcare organizations of UK

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of health N.Udval received October 8 the representatives of healthcare organizations of the United Kingdom. Present at the meeting were also a director of department for policy-planning of the Ministry Ts.Tsolmongerel, a director of department for management of policy implementation Ya.Buyanjargal, and a vice-director of the National Center for Mental Health O.Ganchuluun. The guests included a professor Jane Salvage, a director of “Nursing care and population” Camden&Islington NHS Foundation Trust Claire Johnstonis Ph.D., a director of nursing and research division of the foundation Fiona Nolanis, a director of the foundation David Plummer Ph.D., and others. The sides discussed how to improve Mongolia’s mental health services and also decided to hold two-day training at the National Center for Mental Health. They agreed that a community-based mental health and social care must be separated from an ordinary hospital system, and resources must be determined required for developing the social care (including trainings for staff, sharing practices, technical and financial aids and etc.), and that a cooperation should be promoted between the National Center for Mental Health and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. The second nationwide programme themed “Mental Health” was approved for the 2010-2019 realization in accordance with the government resolution of 2009. The new version of the law on Mental Health has been adopted by parliament on January 3 of 2013. The new version gives a priority to improving of the community-based mental health and social care.
