HEALTH VICE MINISTER MEETS PERMANENT REP OF WHO

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Vice Minister for Health of Mongolia, Mr J.Amarsanaa received last week Dr Wiwat Rojanapithayakorn, the World Health Organization /WHO/ Representative to Mongolia, and Dr. Salik Ram Govind, the WHO's Public health senior specialist. Dr. Vivat congratulated Amarsanaa on becoming the health Vice-minister and introduced him to activities of the Permanent representative office of WHO and to projects realized in frames of the 2010-2015 Country Cooperation Strategy, made between the WHO and the Mongolian Government. Mr Amarsanaa said that, by giving the first step medical services his Ministry wants to make better the health structure, to pay more attention to the first aid, to adjust the medical universities' programmes to internationally accepted critertia, and to strengthen human resources, and then proposed cooperating in these directions. In response, Dr. Vivat supported these ideas. He asked to strengthen activities of the council that is headed by a health Vice Minister to regulate all the projects and programmes, being realized in the health sphere at help of assistance and loans from international organizations. The Vice-minister said he will activate traditional cooperation between the Mongolian government and the WHO. Ch.Enkhtuya
