INSTITUTE FOR STRATEGIC STUDIES TURNS 20 YEARS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Institute for Strategic Studies of Mongolia, a “Strategic studies for 20 years” scientific conference started on November 24. It has been attended by scientists, researchers, statesmen, diplomatic officials and experts from Mongolia, Russia, China and the USA. The conference, being divided into three parts concerning challenges and responses in a new century security, Mongolia's national security, the second channel and Think Tank, has been discussing several speeches themede “New environment of security, obligation and participation of Mongolia”, “Think Tank activities of security studies in Mongolia”, “Obligation of research organizations in working out activity on open resources information”, “National security studies: warning issues”. A center for Strategic studies was established in 1990 under the Institute of Military history, then, as the Institute for Strategic Studies, it came under the jurisdiction of the National security council of Mongolia in 2006, thus assuming obligations to provide the National security council with information, researches and recommendations, to analyze resources, to run talks and negotiations through the regional second channel.
