Iran Navy To Stage Miltiary Drill

Tehran, Nov 27, IRNA – Commander of the Army’s Naval Force Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said here on Saturday that the Iranian naval force will stage “Velayat 90” maneuver in near future. Addressing a news conference on the occasion of Naval Force Week, he added that the maneuver will be more comprehensive than the past drills and will be conducted in the Sea of Oman and northwen Indian Ocean. Pointing out that the Naval Force will apply various tactics and military drills during the maneuver, Sayyari said three other submarines have joined the naval fleet. Criticizing the presence of the US Fifth Naval Fleet in Bahrain as illegal, he said Iran’s naval force' undersea capability is increasing due to the progress of Iran’s Defense Industry. The commander said we have repeatedly announced that regional countries can cooperate together and maintain the security and stability of the region while alien forces are the real cause of insecurity in this region. “Some regional countries’ joint military exercises with US troops can by no means provide security for them,” Sayyari said./end
