Iran Poses No Threat To Regional States - Police Chief

Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan Prov, IRNA – Police Chief Brigadier General Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam said on Wednesday that the powerful presence of Iran in the Persian Gulf region poses no threat to the regional countries.
Addressing a local gathering, Ahmadi Moqaddam said the enemies and big powers are trying to create insecurity in the Persian Gulf region in order to pave the way for their presence in the strategic Middle East region.
He reiterated that expansion of constructive and friendly cooperation with the regional countries is among Iran’s priorities.
Ahmadi Moqaddam said his counterparts in the UAE, Qatar and Oman have declared 50 percent fall in drug- and human-trafficking in recent years, adding that such a decrease is resulted from their cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Presence of foreign forces in the region is the main cause of insecurity there, the Police chief emphasized./end
