Iran-Russia Call For Non-interference In Syrian Affairs

Moscow, April 29, IRNA – Russian president Special Envoy in Middle East Affairs and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Iran ambassador to Moscow in a meeting called for non-interfering in Syrian domestic affairs. Bogdanov and Reza Sajjadi in a meeting here on Saturday discussed situation in the Middle East, especially in Syria. The two sides underlined necessity of settling Syrian crisis through peaceful means and upon national dialog without any alien interference. Bogdanov emphasized support for the UN secretary general envoy in Syrian affairs Kofi Annan and the UN observers mission in Syria. Sajjadi, for his part, underlined necessity of settling Syrian problems through dialog and support for Annan plan. The Russian official has recently declared that the only way to prevent a civil war in Syria is holding national talks./end
